Pitlochry's position at the geometric centre of Scotland makes it a scintillating base for sensational touring. Well within a comfortable day trip from the hotel are Glencoe, Balmoral and Royal Deeside, Inverness and Loch Ness, St Andrews, the Angus Glens, Scone Palace and Glamis Castle, the Grampian castle and whisky trails, the Cairngorms and Aviemore, Fort William and Ben Nevis, Stirling and Braveheart country, Laggan and Monarch of the Glen country, and some scenically spectacular lochs and glens, including Glen Lyon and Loch Tay. Let us provide you with a picnic or packed lunch, don't forget your camera, and embark on a touring extravaganza!
The locality surrounding the hotel can hold its own with the famous Grampian Castle and Whisky Trails. Perhaps not the density but certainly the diversity and quality. Scotland's smallest distillery, Edradour on the doorstep. And its oldest, Glenturret only a short drive. Also close at hand are Blair Athol, the Dewars Centre in Aberfeldy, and Dalwhinnie. All featuring excellent visitor centres and plenty of free samples! And as for castles, Blair Castle, reputedly Scotland's finest, 3 miles away, is a day out in itself - with Castle Menzies not far away either.
No visit to Pitlochry is complete without a visit to The famous Pitlochry Festival Theatre, Scotland's 'Theatre in the Hills', only minutes from the hotel. We will be pleased to make a booking for you, and provide you with all the up to date 'whats on' information. See our special offers which include theatre tickets. In addition to performances in the main auditorium the Pitlochry Festival Theatre season also features regular Foyer events, Concerts, Art and Craft demonstrations and pre-performance entertainment.
Highland shopping and The House of Bruar, only 5 miles from the hotel, are almost synonymous. 'Scotland's Harrods', as it is known is a must visit. It has added a whole new dimension to the area but some of Scotland's finest country shopping is still very much to the fore in Pitlochry itself.
